OPEN FORMAT 07 sets posted. We raised $50 to split between the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. and the Société Alzheimer de l'Outaouais Québécois-- thanks everyone. And a big thank you to the staff of Shanghai Restaurant, who went way out of their way to accommodate us this month.

Pleasure Through Sound is an ongoing not-for-profit organization that has been promoting left-field, experimental, electro-acoustic, electronic, genre-crossing punk and rock, and modern composition music since 2001.

In promoting shows and presenting artists in our home town, we subtract remedial production costs, posters, and government and publishing taxes from the gross, and provide the net from the door to be divided between the artists involved, and their respective booking agent (should they be using one to contact us).

We do not take a cut for ourselves. Any grants that we get will be put into shows and artists, but we do not work with a stable stream of funding, and thus artists should expect to be paid the old fashioned way: their cut will depend on the nature of the expenses in relation to the setup that they require, and how many the people they draw in our town.

We will work with artists to explain the reality of presenting their work in our town, and to come to an agreement on an affordable price for the patrons of live music here. We will poster, provide the show info to all local media, and to all who have expressed an interest in the PTS series as a mailout. Reliable contacts and introductions can be provided if artists wish to send copies of their work to those who will actively play their music on the radio, or to the appropriate stores to encourage them to stock their music. We will work with artists and labels to the extent that they wish to push the show and build a following in our city.

Ideally, we would ask for requests for shows 3-4 months in advance to make sure that we can find a respectful venue for your work, and to lay a strong foundation for promotion and awareness that you will be bringing your music to our city. Our audience is small in number, but strong and reliable in spirit.
